JYO is excited to open registration for the Fall/Winter basketball season for 2025-2026. The JYO season runs September 2025 through February 2026 for girls and boys entering 1st - 8th grades in Fall 2025. Be sure to review all of the JYO Basketball Program information and FAQs before registering.

Registration Timeline

• RETURNING PLAYERS and their siblings: Opens Monday, June 2, 2025
• Registration deadline for returning players and their siblings to receive preference for JYO acceptance: SUNDAY, JUNE 22, 2025, 11:59PM PT
• Registration for ALL PLAYERS opens MONDAY, JUNE 23, 2025
• Registration for all players will end on MONDAY, JULY 21, 2025, 11:59PM PST. Late applicants will only be accepted if spaces are available.
• Player acceptance notifications will be communicated by August 4, 2024

2025-2026 Basketball Season Schedule

• Practice begins mid-to-late-September 2025
• Based on parent feedback, JYO will do its best to schedule practices that do not conflict with local Japanese schools schedules.
• Instructional Division (Grades 1-3) Jamborees run from January 2025 - March 2025.
  • The JYO Jamboree is January 24, 2026
• League Division games run from November 2025 - February 2026. Here are the dates (bye weeks by team not yet determined):
  • Sun 11/30
  • Sun 12/7, 12/14, 12/21
  • Sun 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25
  • Sun 2/1, 2/22

Fees For The 2025-2026 Season

• Instructional Division (Grades 1-3): $440/player (excludes jamboree entry fees except for JYO Jamboree)
• League Division (Grades 4-8): $580/player
• These fees go towards gym costs for the entire season (Sep - Feb), equipment, all league games (if applicable), the JYO Jamboree, and the JYO Welcome Picnic.
• The registration fee does NOT include uniforms. Uniforms can be purchased after acceptance.

Registration details and refunds

• Registration does NOT guarantee acceptance to JYO for the 2025-2026 basketball season. JYO has a limited number of teams per grade and maintains a limited number of players per team.
• In the event that we cannot accommodate your player, you will be notified, and your registration fee will be refunded.
• JYO is a 100% volunteer-driven organization. In the registration form, you will be asked to provide your 1st and 2nd choice volunteer role (list of volunteer roles) that your family will commit to for the upcoming season. These elections and the amount of prior volunteer contributions for returning families will be taken into account in processing registrations and acceptances.
• If rosters are full, we encourage you to register on our waitlist. All waitlist submissions will be evaluated. Payment is not needed to register on our waitlist. Payment will be required only if the player is accepted from the waitlist.
• No special accommodations for requests of player grouping or coaches will be allowed.
• Once a player has been accepted by JYO for the 2025-2026 season, there will be no refunds.
