Registration for the Fall 2026-2027 Basketball Season

REGISTRATION TIMELIINE

  • Registration for ONLY RETURNING PLAYERS and their siblings: Opens Monday, June 15, 2026
  • Registration deadline for returning players and their siblings to receive preference for JYO acceptance: Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11:59PM PT
  • Registration for ALL PLAYERS opens Wednesday, July 1, 2026
  • Registration for ALL PLAYERS closes on Wednesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:59PM PT.

PLAYER AND TEAM SELECTION

  • Player acceptance is limited due to roster capacity
  • Priority is given to returning players, siblings of current or past JYO players, and families committed to key volunteer roles
  • Team rosters are finalized in early August
  • Teammate and coach requests cannot be accommodated

2026-2027 BASKETBALL SEASON SCHEDULE

  • Practice begins mid-to-late-September 2026
  • Practices are typically held on Friday evenings or Saturdays. Friday evening practices are generally reserved for older grade teams. Kinder Division practices may be held on Sunday mornings.
  • Based on parent feedback, JYO will do its best to schedule practices that do not conflict with local Japanese schools schedules.
  • Kinder and Instructional Division (Grades 1-3) Jamborees run from January 2027 - March 2027.
  • The JYO Jamboree is in late January.
  • League Division (Grades 4-8) games run from December 2026 - February 2027. Games are held on Sundays.
    • The 2026-2027 game dates are the following:
      •  Dec 6th, 13th, 20th
      •  Jan 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st
      •  Feb 7th, 21st, 28th

FEES FOR THE 2026-2027 SEASON

  • Kinder Division (Grade K): $450 per player (excludes jamboree entry fees except for JYO Jamboree)
  • Instructional Division (Grades 1-3): $500 per player (excludes jamboree entry fees except for JYO Jamboree)
  • League Division (Grades 4-8): $630 per player
  • These fees go towards gym costs for the entire season (Sep - Feb), equipment, all league games (if applicable), the JYO Jamboree, and the JYO Welcome Picnic.
  • The registration fee does NOT include uniforms. Uniforms can be purchased after acceptance.

REGISTRATION DETAILS AND REFUNDS

  • Registration does NOT guarantee acceptance to JYO for the 2026-2027 basketball season. JYO has a limited number of teams per grade and maintains a limited number of players per team.
  • In the event that we cannot accommodate your player, you will be notified, and your registration fee will be refunded.
  • JYO is a 100% volunteer-driven organization. Every JYO family is required to volunteer at least 6 hours per season. In the registration form, you will be asked to provide your 1st and 2nd choice volunteer role that your family will commit to for the upcoming season. These elections and the amount of prior volunteer contributions for returning families will be taken into account in processing registrations and acceptances.
  • If rosters are full, we encourage you to register on our waitlist. All waitlist submissions will be evaluated. Payment is not needed to register on our waitlist. Payment will be required only if the player is accepted from the waitlist.
  • No special accommodations for requests of player grouping or coaches will be allowed.
  • Once a player has been accepted by JYO for the 2026-2027 season, there will be no refunds.
